Charities We Support

The BC SPCA is leader in their field. As the largest animal welfare organization of its kind in Canada, they provide unsurpassed animal care and management while helping more than 47,776 abandoned, abused, injured and homeless animals each year.

We donate to the BC SPCA because this organization resonates with all of us here at Motor Wertr as we all have pets, or at the very least have had pets in our lives.  We consider them family and support the SPCA here locally as they are the “voice for the animals”.

JoeAnna's House

Every year, thousands of families across the interior of British Columbia travel from their homes to receive life-saving healthcare at Kelowna General Hospital.  When these families arrive, they may need to stay at the KGH for an extended period of time. The lack of affordable short-term accommodation in Kelowna only adds significant stress to an already difficult situation.

Families get better when together. Kelowna is a community that cares, and when we work together, we can accomplish big things like the amazing project, JoeAnna’s House.

The Motor Werke team donates to JoeAnna’s House as we see this as a great community support initiative from the perspective of the human element.  It’s a great way to help people when they are under stress during an emotional time while loved ones are in the hospital.

The Rainforest Alliance

The Rain Forest Alliance has been working for more than 30 years to bring real, measurable benefits to forests, communities, and wildlife in vulnerable landscapes around the world. They work at the intersection of business, agriculture, and forests to bring diverse allies together. By creating change on some of the world’s most pressing social and environmental issues, they amplify the voices of farmers and forest communities, improve livelihoods, protect biodiversity, and help people mitigate and adapt to climate change in bold and effective ways.

The Rain Forest Alliance resonates with our Motor Werke team as we spend a lot of time outdoors collectively, therefore we feel the need to support this cause to help sustain our environment.

SORCO Rehabilitation Centre

SORCO Raptor Rehab Centre was registered as a not for profit society in 1988 and is licensed through the BC Ministry of Forest, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. They are not only dedicated to rehabilitating injured and orphaned birds of prey for release back to the wild, but to educating the public on the important role raptors play in our ecosystem. The centre receives over 150 injured and orphaned birds a year.  It is one of the best Wildlife Rehab Centres of its kind in the country and is located just south of us in Oliver, BC.

The Motor Werke team spends most of our spare time enjoying the outdoors so we are proud to donate to the SORCO Raptor Rehab Centre to help maintain a healthy ecosystem.
