Mini service & repair in Kelowna

Karl Benz invented the first internal combustion engine car in 1886, launching the automotive era. Benz, a stationary engine manufacturer, combined a four-stroke gasoline engine with a modified three-wheel carriage. Months later, Gottlieb Daimler, unaware of Benz, created the first four-wheel car. Daimler’s company, DMG, became a key player in the global automotive market. In 1901, Emil Jelinek named a DMG car “Mercedes,” designed by Wilhelm Maybach to high standards, leading to the successful 35hp Mercedes.

In 1926, due to foreign competition, a declining Frank, and sluggish sales, banks urged DMG and Benz to merge, forming Mercedes-Benz, honoring both companies. Daimler’s three-pointed star logo symbolized engines for land, air, and water.

During World War II, Mercedes-Benz shifted to heavy truck and machine production, laying the foundation for vehicles like the Unimog and G-Wagen. Post-war, the company quickly resumed passenger vehicle production.
